With a sense of calmness the vintage diver sits with gloves in the praying position while fish pass above. The blue planet represented in the helmet. A statement to draw one in to the need for respect and preservation for the underwater world and all oceans. A painting to evoke underwater conciousness and to reflect the underwater calmness that needs to be treasured.

A painting with numerous interpretations regarding our interactions with each other, as a group, as individuals, some of us different to the other yet sharing the same journey, with that one that is always moving in an opposite direction. The painting also reflects a non threatening vintage diver and the curiosity of the fish. Some have commented the fish facing the shoal is perhaps me....well perhaps!

I felt like I was painting it from the seabed next to the diver. I could hear the sound of the dredging, feel the current, hear the noises from the wooden ship and experience the tuna swimming past.
